She grows up to be equally tough, as an adult, she finds herself in toxic relationships with men and engaging in other self-destructive behaviors. Every time Karina thinks she finds love and happiness it seems to destroy her sense of security. Karina suffers a soul-crushing loss at the tender age of twenty-one and her behavior spirals out of control. She suddenly finds herself immersed in a world of violence, promiscuity, shootouts, drug-trafficking, strip-culture, and a host of things she never imagined. Her life is turned upside down and she’s in over her head.

This book was really good and had me on the edge of my seat until the last page. The story line was so intense, I felt like I was right there! I'm not going to say too much because I don't want to give the story away but I can say be ready to pre-ordered and get on the waiting list because it ends with a cliffhanger!
